About Badger's Beard

Yep, that's me. Disguising my baldness with a beanie.

Good day to you the reader of this about page. I suppose this should be some kind of introduction, so thank you for your interest. I am Justin: An artist from Kent, who goes by the handle Badger’s Beard. In May of 2021, I was moved away and put into emergency accommodation.

So, I got a job. I worked hard, long hours overnight to earn the money to live and try and escape the hole I had fallen into after months of waiting and legal stuff. It was often heavy, and physically repetitive work, which eventually took its toll on my health and mobility. I had to take time off but there was no sick pay.

It was around the time of my children’s birthdays I decided I had virtually no money, but I could afford a roll of paper. So I made a birthday banner for each of them, each had a number of images which were related to their tastes and they came out really well. I was given a ghastly night-stand by a neighbour who was moving away. I sanded it down and decorated it with symbols from popular culture franchises. That was my introduction into art. Pretty soon after this, I started getting ideas and translating them into paintings. My eldest child(not a child), liked my work, and suggested we had some of them printed to sell at events. They sold. At this point, in my own weird way, I felt I could call myself an artist. Before, I was just a spicy disaster who drew/painted dick jokes to combat the depression. Two business courses later and here we are. Welcome to my mess, I hope you have fun…

Apparently, it isn't socially acceptable to yell at pigeons in parks. Perhaps I'll fare better quacking at ducks.
